This is a wonderful game to help break the ice and get folks talking to each other. It is also a nice way to form couples while having some fun.
You'll need some red construction paper, scissors, and a large box, bowl or hat.
Start by cutting hearts out of the construction paper. You can fold each sheet into four pieces and cut one heart out so that when you are done you have four identical hearts.
Next cut each heart (one at a time) approximately in half using an irregular zig-zag pattern. When you are done each heart should be in two pieces and no two patterns should be exactly alike. That means to make a perfect heart by putting the pieces back together, you have to use the same two pieces that originally came from the same heart.
You should have an equal number of guests participating so that each will get a half of a heart. It also helps to have en equal number of men and women. Put all the right half heart pieces into a large bowl, hat, or box and let each female guest choose a half by reaching in and pulling one out. Put all the left half pieces into a container and let the male guests choose one half each.
The object now is to mingle with each guest and find the person who has the other half of your heart. Before comparing heart pieces each guest should introduce themself to the person whose heart they are trying to fit. The winner is the first couple to make a match, but all the guests win because they get to meet everyone at the party.
