This is a variation on the popular party game, musical chairs. Only in this version, it is a lap the ladies will be sitting on. It is good to start with an even number of couples. If that isn't possible it will be necessary to play the game until there is one less man seated than the number of ladies you have. For instance, if you have nine ladies playing the game, you'll have to eliminate gentlemen by playing the game until you only have eight men seated. Then the ladies start (see below)
Start with the gentlemen first. Start the music and have them circle the chairs. When the music stops, they must quickly sit down and the man left standing is out.
Once all the gentlemen (except the man out) are seated, start the music again and let the ladies circle the seated gentlemen. When the music stops the ladies must quickly find a lap. The lady left standing is out and one couple is removed from the seated couples (they may volunteer or just work from one end of the row). Then the ladies stand and the game play begins again until the music stops. Continue until there is only one lady seated.
The winner is the last lady seated.
How do the gentlemen win? Just look at those smiles as each one has a pretty lady sit on his lap.
